The Way of the Shamans
PERU RETREAT
APRIL 29 - MAY 10, 2028
There are places on this Earth that breathe with us, sing through us, and awaken something ancient within our bones. When we hear and follow their call, the journey becomes pilgrimage.
Sacred Valley is the heart of the Peruvian Andes, a land where mountains talk and listen, where stones are portal to the sacred, and rivers carry ancient prayers that our ancestors left to guide and support us.
Peru's Sacred Valley in the Andes is one of those places that change something deep within you. It is held by Ayni, the sacred reciprocity, sacred exchange of the Andean Cosmovision that says: “nothing ever goes one way”. In May 2028 we are coming back for a 12-day journey through Sacred Valley and the Heart of the Peruvian Andes. A journey of discovering the ways of ancient Medicine Men and Women, of teachings directly from the sacred mountains and ancient portals that hold the prayers left for us thousands of years ago.
In collaboration with SupersoulYoga, dear friends and colleagues Sandra Luz & SuperSoul founder Dee Koprivc weave together ancient Andean knowledge and yogic practices, honoring the sacred elements of nature, ceremony, and plant medicine traditions, all held in spaces designed to be safe and deeply supportive. Around them stands a wider circle of trusted wisdom keepers who know this land and its rituals deep in their bones. We have the opportunity to learn directly from Maestro Puma Fredy Quispe Singona, Sandra’s direct teacher for many years, a lineage-holding Medicine man trained since boyhood by his grandfather, and a global voice for Andean wisdom and reverence for Pachamama. Together with his family, they are the local masters who hold the ceremonial heart of this journey.
The journey in two chapters:
For the first week of our journey, we will settle into the gorgeous Samadhi Retreat Centre — our mountain home. From here, we will venture out on guided hikes, explore ancient Incan temples and portals, Machu Picchu the Sacred altar of the Crystal Condor, reconnect with Pachamama to awaken our hearts, and walk the ancestral paths of the Earth’s most revered sacred sites.
Then, we gather in beautiful Cusco, and for those called to go further, the journey continues into an optional 3-days ascent into the untouched Ausangate region, at 4,500m. Apu Ausangate is one of the most sacred Andean mountain, a place of deep reverence reserved for those ready to walk even closer to the Spirit of the Earth, and in the footsteps of the ancient shamans.

Retreat Details
Our retreat weaves together the shared wisdom of yogic and shamanic traditions, honoring their deep reverence for nature, the elements, and the sacred pathways to expanded consciousness. We do not come to the sacred mountains, temples, and ancient sites of the Andes as tourists—we arrive as listeners. Here, we align our breath with the living spirit of Ayni: the sacred reciprocity and profound interconnectedness of all living beings.
RETREAT PROGRAM*
-
Welcome Circle, a ritual of arrival, where we share our intentions, create connection, and clear the path of any obstacles ahead. This sets the tone for the journey we'll walk together. A soft yoga class invites us gently into our bodies. Dinner included.
Altitude: 2,800m
-
Morning yoga connects us to the land of the Sacred Walley, and calls ourselves back. In the afternoon, we learn about Andean Shamanic Cosmovision and join a Despacho Ceremony prepared by our Medicine Woman of the Q'anchis Ylla lineage, connecting us to the land, the ancestral spirits of the Andes, and to ourselves. All meals included.
-
Through morning yogic practices, we open to Wilka Allpa, the sacred spirit of earth. At noon, we visit the mysterious Incan terraces of Moray regarded as the womb of Mother Earth, where we receive a seed of the Earthkeeper (Kurak Akuyek initiation) and give thanks to Pachamama. We also visit the picturesque Maras salt mines. All meals included.
Altitude: Maras 3.200m / Moray: 3.600m
-
Our morning practice connects us to the sacred element of Water: Wilka Unu / Yaku. After breakfast follows a two-hour trek along the crystal-clear waters of Apu Pumahuanca, to the ancient Chupani temple. In this sacred spot where the Incan Priestesses of the Sun took purification rituals we experience a shamanic ritual honoring the sacred waters, Wilka Unu. We close the day with evening yoga. All meals included.
Altitude: 2.792 m
-
Today offers a rare opportunity: an optional Wachuma ceremony guided by Maestro Puma, held in the spectacular natural setting of Quillarumiyoc. Wachuma, a sacred plant medicine used since Incan times as a pathway to the heart —a ceremony rarely offered with this level of authenticity outside its place of origin.
For those resting at Samadhi retreat: guided pottery, painting, spa, massage, or simple rest: a space to integrate, or to express what moves within. All meals included.
Altitude: 3.860m

Integration day. Our morning practice moves us into right relationship with all that is — giving and receiving in sacred balance, the living principle of Ayni breathing through every posture, every breath. Today we soften into integration, into gratitude for all that we have received.
In the afternoon, we gather for a shamanic Cacao Ceremony awakening joy, dancing, singing, playing!
-
Today we journey through the heart of the Sacred Valley, ascending to the Sun Temple at Machu Picchu. Guided by our Q'ero team, we connect with Wilka Nina, the sacred fire of transformation, and learn of Inti, the Sun god who illuminated the Inca path — and the incredible wisdom that lives within Machu Picchu itself. The day is spent immersed in the powerful presence of one of the world's most epic sacred sites. All meals included.
Altitude: 2,430m
-
A final yoga class of activating our Poqpos (energy centres) & closing circle to honor the journey we've shared. We checkout from Samadhi Retreat; we visit the vibrant town of Pisac, before arriving in Cusco by evening. Lunch in Pisac & dinner in Cusco on your own.
Altitude: Pisac 2,972m / Cusco 3,400m

Today is yours! Rest, acclimate to Cusco's altitude, and move at your own pace — wander the cobbled streets, or browse San Pedro Market, Peru's largest art-and-craft market. For those completing the retreat here, checkout is after breakfast.
For those who wish to go further, an optional excursion awaits: Sacsayhuamán, once both a fortress and a sacred center for Inca religion and astronomy, an engineering mystery that still challenges historians today. From there, we enter a sacred cave known as the Womb of Mother Earth, for a rebirth ceremony — a space of deep connection and renewal. Meals are not included today.
Altitude: 3,400m

We formally end the retreat in Cusco and begin the pilgrimage to Ausangate. Arrival to Pacchanta where we spend the afternoon & a full moon night high up in the Andes with the traditional local communities, sharing a meal, and enjoying the natural hot springs of Pacchanta. At Otorongo Lake, we’ll pause for ritual, with time for meditation and quiet connection to this remarkable place.

We arrive in Cusco by late afternoon, where our retreat formally comes to a close. From here, you are free to continue your journey or begin your journey home.
